If you have ever been on instagram and searched #wanderlust or #travelpics, you will have come across pictures of the stunning Plitvice National Park. With it’s stunning clear falls, and terrace lakes, it is a place that should be on everyone’s bucket list. We visited back in May and we can’t recommend it enough. Here are our top 10 tips for making the most of your time there.
Top 10 Tips for Lake Bled

Top 10 Tips for Budapest
With this trip being both Pete and I’s first ever visit to Budapest, neither of us knew quite what to expect from the city other than lots of baths and the possibility of cheap booze. Having just left Budapest after 5 days, we are a little wiser about this amazing city and thought we would share some of our learnings which may come in useful for other first time visitors; Continue reading “Top 10 Tips for Budapest”
Travel Planning: Where to Start
While the thought of going travelling fills me with so much excitement I could spontaneously combust into a million of pieces of globe-shaped rainbow confetti, I did find the prospect of actually planning the trip quite daunting. It seemed an impossible task, and I had no idea where to even start. Luckily for me, with Pete having done 6 months solo travelling before, he was a dab hand at the planning side and was able to guide me through it and together I think we’ve found a good balance to our plan; enough structure that we will get the most of our time, but not too much that it restricts us from any spur-of-the-moment fun to be had. Our Dream Staycation
Back in May last year, Pete and I spent 1 glorious week in the Elsa Cabin at Log House Holidays. I’ve been on a few staycations (a holiday spent in your home country rather than abroad) in my time, and while they have all been enjoyable, nothing compared to the time we spent there.
Stalking Cath and Pete: A How to Guide
With just 4 short months left until we board our first flight, of what will be many over the coming year, we thought it would be good to give an update on what we’re up to travel planning wise.
But before I jump headlong in to the details of what we have and haven’t booked, now would probably be a good time to discuss the route we plan to take, so that when I do eventually begin the endless babble about plane tickets, sleeper trains and hostel dorms, at least there will be some context around it.
My First Ever Camping Trip
If you read my first blog post (here) you will know that our upcoming year long travelling adventure will be my first experience of long term travelling. Not only that, but it will be my first time travelling on a tight budget. Continue reading “My First Ever Camping Trip”
Compromise
Once we made the decision to go travelling, Pete and I started looking at other blogs online for tips on planning, budgeting and not murdering each other along the way. One of the reoccurring themes for avoiding homicidal outbursts was the ability to compromise. As anybody who knows me will attest to, I am quite stubborn and do not concede easily so I thought a blog post exploring the ideas we have for compromising whilst we travel would be fun. If nothing else, we can look back at this and laugh at our own naivety from our respective jail cells following the attempted murder trials. Continue reading “Compromise”
